World Volunteer Day: s.Oliver extends partnership with Special Olympics Germany

Promoting the social commitment of employees

Today is International Volunteer Day, which is celebrated every year on December 5. On this day, all volunteers who are committed to positively changing society, the economy and the environment through their involvement in projects, associations or organizations are honored.

At s.Oliver, we have made it our mission to promote the social commitment of our employees. We are therefore proud to extend our partnership with Special Olympics Deutschland e.V. (SOD) for another year. As part of this cooperation, ten of our employees will participate as volunteers in the Special Olympics in Thuringia 2024, which will take place from 29.01. to 02.02.2024 in Erfurt, Oberhof and Weimar. They will actively support the athletes in the Erfurt ice rink in the short track and non-competitive events. We will cover the travel costs and reward their voluntary commitment by giving our employees paid time off for half of their time. This initiative follows on from our involvement in the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin 2023, where around 40 employees have already volunteered.

Sonja Balodis, Member of the Management Board of the S.OLIVER GROUP:

As a family business, we take our social responsibility very seriously. We are very proud to provide Special Olympics Germany with clothing as a fashion partner. In addition to this classic sponsorship, it is very important to us that our employees can get involved directly on site and carry the spirit of the Special Olympics movement into our company.

Sven Albrecht, CEO Special Olympics Germany:

The partnership between s.Oliver and the Special Olympics movement goes back to 1998 and is characterized by trusting cooperation and an extensive and diverse commitment. Together we have been able to dress many helpers, athlete spokespersons, sports officials and many more for their missions. We are delighted to continue to have s.Oliver at our side as a strong partner.
