s.Oliver and the Special Olympics Movement Celebrate 25-years of Partnership at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023

25 years of #StrongTogether

What timing: while the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 are taking place, we at s.Oliver are celebrating an anniversary that we are proud of: 25 years of partnership with the Special Olympics movement. Our silver anniversary makes it clear: For us, social commitment has been something that we consider important and above all for a long time: we live it. Completely natural.

Jürgen Otto, CEO S.OLIVER GROUP, explains the background of the partnership:

Diversity and inclusion are two major social issues that we want to contribute to. Because s.Oliver is a brand for her, him and everyone. For everyone who masters their everyday life and has small and big successes.

We at s.Oliver not only equip the German delegation (TeamSOD) as Official Fashion Partner for official events, but also provide most of the clothing for the volunteers as a partner of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. Around 40 employees of the S.OLIVER GROUP are also involved as volunteers on site.

Sven Albrecht, Federal Managing Director of Special Olympics Germany (SOD) and Managing Director (CEO) of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023:

We have had a long-standing and trusting partnership with s.Oliver. The extensive and diverse commitment is exemplary for the social responsibility of a large company.

Mark Solomeyer, Vice President Athlete Spokesperson for Special Olympics Germany adds:

I am delighted that s.Oliver has supported the Special Olympics movement for 25 years. During their long partnership with Special Olympics Germany, they have helped drive inclusion in Germany. They have also always ensured that we athletes, as well as the helpers and employees, are well dressed.

The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 are the world's largest inclusive sports event and will take place for the first time in Berlin from June 17th to 25th, 2023. Thousands of athletes with mental and multiple disabilities compete in 26 sports and two demonstration sports. Susanne Geiger describes how important the event is. This is her second time as a volunteer and sales assistant at s.Oliver:

This event is proofing: togetherness is everything. If we all stick together, it becomes clear on which levels top performance is possible. Namely on everyone. I am proud to support and live inclusion. And s.Oliver can be proud of that, too.
