Packaging is essential for the efficient transportation of our products and preventing damage in the process. However, packaging often ends up where it shouldn’t be: in the sea, rivers, in the countryside, or on the street. On top of that, resources are also required to produce packaging.
That’s why the use and handling of packaging is a key starting point in our sustainability program.
The Best Packaging Is No Packaging At All
Avoiding packaging altogether lies at the core of our packaging strategy. The reduction and avoidance of packaging saves resources and keeps waste out of the environment.
More Sustainable Alternatives
Where packaging is used, we predominantly rely on certified, recycled materials. When it comes to paper, we use FSC Mix as well as FSC certifications. The recyclability of our packaging is particularly important to us.
Close the Circle
In order to keep the packaging material in the material cycle for longer, we focus on the recyclability of our packaging. This means, for example, prohibiting coatings to ensure that cardboard can be recycled.
POLYBAGS
Closed Recycling Loop - the Polyloop
With the so-called ‘Polyloop’, we have established a completely closed recycling loop for our polybags. As soon as products are removed from their original polybags or repackaged at our logistics centre, we systematically collect the used packaging.
This is then handed over to a specialised partner company, which professionally processes the polybags and produces new polybags from the recycled material. This new packaging is then returned to our cycle and reused for our products. In this way, we reduce waste, conserve valuable resources and make an active contribution to the circular economy - for a more sustainable future.
PACKAGING
Our Shipping Boxes
All of our shipping boxes – whether for shipping to our warehouse, to our stores or from our online shop to you at home – are made of FSC Mix certified material. This means that the wood used is primarily sourced from more responsible forestry. The boxes also contain a high percentage of recycled paper and are also almost 100% recyclable.
